I thought we all figured this out a few years ago, but I guess that someone should remind you that anytime we see one of these blinking, animated ads for some debt consolidation company in the middle of a news article that we are trying to read, our respect for you as an information source and as a company drops by a noticeable percentage.
Maybe its time to stop using those ad networks that just fill your unsold inventory with crap and start putting something useful there, like better reporting.

If you see a site carrying all this blinky bottom-of-the-barrel shit, you know they’re not doing too well.
For example MySpace. They may claim to have 5 Zillion users, but until they can get better advertisers than BLINK BLINK YOU’VE WON AN IPOD BLINK BLINK then they really can’t be making a lot of $$$.
I see the ad pictured about DAILY on the HOMEPAGE of CNN.
SOMETHING must be broken over there if that’s the best ad they can get for the CNN audience.
That’s why I get all my news from the (paper) NYTimes and WSJ. NO BLINKING ADS. Plus I can use the paper to wrap my eBay shipments in.
On the other hand, NSFW gets all his news from http://www.nakednews.com/
On a related note, somewhere on my to-do list is "Topless Tax".
1. License some struggling tax software’s engine (TaxAct, etc)
2. Have videos of topless women giving tax tips
3. Audio / Video clips of women getting excited every time you get a deduction. (Example! "OOOOOH! You get a mortgage interest deduction! I’m going to Pinch my Nipples!")
4. Videos of some trailer trash mother (on welfare) and a Condi Rice lookalike getting all excited when you have to pay your taxes because it’s more money for them.
5. ???
6. Profit!
